mayflower state hospital's medical/surgical building has been stripped of most of its equipment like desks and beds,
which were heaped in one or two locations during the asbestos abatement process. while this can often lead to a
place feeling somewhat barren, in mayflower there are still many smaller flourishes like faded pieces of framed art
and decorative stickers that help it retain some of its personality and offer fleeting glimpses at the lives of the people
who worked and were treated there.
