| up above where the altar was, there is a glorious depiction of the crucifixion surrounded by the saints. interestingly, in the far left you will notice Miles, who is not a saint and has no halo. rumor has it that Miles is the painter of the scene and this is a signature of sorts. this would not be uncommon as often in cathedrals artisans inserted likenesses of themselves into their work, however it is unverifiable due to a lack of detailed information about the church even within the diocese. i was able to obtain a history written in the 1970s, but understandably it focused less on the building itself and more on the progression of clergy over the years. |
